Originally from Poland, Kinga Heming spent her early years in Amsterdam before immigrating to Canada with her family. She now calls the picturesque city of Kelowna, BC, her home. Kinga grew up immersed in music, thanks to her father, a passionate jazz performer, and her mother, an avid music enthusiast. Their love for music surrounded her with iconic vocal pop and jazz records by artists like The Platters, Nat King Cole, Dean Martin, and Frank Sinatra.
During her teenage years, Kinga delved into the repertoires of renowned jazz vocalists, including, Dianne Reeves, Sarah Vaughan, Natalie Cole, and especially Ella Fitzgerald.
Kinga pursued her studies in voice and music theory at Humber College in Toronto, where she also contributed as an instructor, teaching voice, piano, music theory, ear training, and improvisation to students of all ages.
Her latest 2019 album, “Forever in My Heart,” which received a first round GRAMMY nomination, is a heartfelt collection of songs that she describes as a “book written about her personal life.”
With years of performing jazz across the Okanagan, Kinga has become a prominent figure in the local jazz scene.
