Hailing from Vancouver, British Columbia, Cousin Harley is a high-octane trio that fuses hot-rod rockabilly with Western swing, blues, and flashes of bebop jazz. Anchored by guitarist, songwriter, and bandleader Paul Pigat, the band delivers a sound that can explode like an active volcano, swing with big-band precision, and holler with the raw spirit of backwoods Americana—all within a single set. For over 20 years, Cousin Harley has been thrilling audiences around the world with a pedal-to-the-metal approach to roots music that is anything but simple.

Pigat, often called the “Motorhead of Rockabilly” by fans in Europe, is widely regarded as one of Canada’s most versatile and accomplished guitarists. Influenced by legends such as Les Paul, T-Bone Walker, Bob Wills, Danny Gatton, Link Wray, Charlie Christian, and Lemmy, his playing bridges genres with effortless authority. A longtime Gretsch Guitars endorsee and clinician, Pigat’s work has been featured in Guitar World, Guitar Player, Vintage Guitar, and Fretboard Journal, as well as in film and television, including The Last of Us and the movie Sausage Party. When he’s not playing guitars, he’s often building them.

Beyond Cousin Harley, Pigat has collaborated with an impressive range of artists, including Neko Case, Jakob Dylan, Jim Byrnes, Michael Kaeshammer, and Kevin Breit. His musical curiosity reflects his belief that being a well-rounded guitarist means being able to step into almost any musical situation—a philosophy that fuels Cousin Harley’s dynamic, genre-blurring sound.

Rounded out by multi-instrumentalist bandmates Jesse and Jeremy—both accomplished educators and bluegrass musicians—the trio brings a deep musicality and spontaneous energy to every performance. Tight, fearless, and relentlessly fun, Cousin Harley is not to be trifled with and not to be missed.
